☆ Misakichan Desu~! ☆

rurouni_krstn~

Hello~! I'm Misakichan, previously known in AI as rurouni_krstn, the resident ShaoRan no Miko. For my first post, I would like to introduce myself. (>_<)>

I started liking animes back in 2000, when AXN was still airing anime episodes. Sometime 2001, I met sniper_ipis (whom I will always revere and be forever grateful to) in the AXN forums and he was nice enough to invite me to Anime Illusions. It was one of the most amazing turning points in my life. I made new online friends who not only shared my interest in anime, but also introduced me to other stuffs like Jpop/Jrock music, mangas and even basic html codes. Back then I was a total n00b in using the computer and the internet, and being part of the AI community helped me a lot in this aspect. I also looked forward to the everyday mIRC discussions, which mostly pertained to that day's AXN anime episodes and a lot of friendly bantering. Later on, I was promoted to moderator of the Card Captor Sakura thread. Sadly, after a year in AI, I gradually became inactive due to my postgraduate studies, which explains why most of you probably do not know me. A lot of you do know Shijirou, and if my memory serves me right, both of us registered in AI just around the same time. Shiji eventually took AI into his hands yet my existence simply faded away.

Though my stay in AI was short-lived, I did make wonderful friends there whom I still kept in touch with even until today. I'm from a small city located in the south of the Philippines, so I never got to attend any of the AI meets in Manila. But a few years ago, in separate occasions, I got to meet swordskill, gau-kun, and SyiveSe (who is an AI member from Malaysia!) in person. Those were really happy events for me, and hopefully, in the near future, I can meet everyone else as well.

Fast forward to the present, more than 10 years later from when I first joined AI, most of us and most of the trends have changed. Social networking sites have gained popularity over online forums, anime and related stuffs are easily accessible, and discussing animes by episodes is hardly possible now. Many of previous AI members are also probably no longer interested in animes. As for me though, my love for animes and anything Japanese, has grown even more. I'm now an avid hoarder of animes, mangas, PVC toys, and related whatnots. Through my experience in AI, I have helped start an anime community in my city, which is often tapped for cosplay activities and such. I was even a judge for the regional leg of the Tournament of Champions last year, sponsored by cosplay(dot)ph. Despite my job IRL, I am an anime otaku and Japanophile deep down, and I'm proud of it! \(^w^)/

And so... wanting to connect with fellow AI members from all over the world, I've decided to join the bandwagon of aspiring writers for this blog. I watch just about any genre of anime and I often write reviews in my own blog, so I'll probably mirror that here. I'll also write about mangas, music, dramas, artists and the occasional PSP games that I play. I'm quite the rabid fangirl, so my posts may tend to be long. But I promise I'll try to keep them to a minimum, and hopefully, keep them interesting and informative.

With that said, keep posted to this blog and happy reading everyone!

Now that I think about it, Misaki-chan...

I only remember us interacting through our blogspot blogs. (Then all hell broke lose after UtaPri, LOL~) Did we ever chat in the forums or IRC?

Hahaha~ I don't think so. I was gone from AI for a while, then when I returned, there was already a member (whom I'm not familiar with) who makes AI webcomic. Nope, I don't think we've really crossed paths during the AI forum days. XD

But I'm so glad to meet you post-AI forum days... XDXDXD

Oooh~ So you weren't there when the story of A.illusions happened. :3~

And me too! Zomg, it's not everyday that I meet a _real_ doctor who's an anime fanatic. xD
